Conveners & Partners
What is a Read901 Convener?
A Convener guides the work of the coalition partners by providing backbone capacity support. This includes tracking data, reporting, scheduling and facilitating joint meetings, and acting as a liaison between the coalition and other partner entities (like the school system, city and county governments, etc.).
What is a Read901 Coalition Partner?
A Read901 partner can join the coalition by committing to one of four tiers according to their capacity and role: Coordinating, Anchor, Active, or Aligned.
All partners commit to:
Alignment
Identify how your organization's literacy-related work aligns with one or more of the six Read901 priorities
Anchor Partners lead one of the six priority teams through coordination and facilitation.
Communication & Advocacy
Use Read901 messaging and materials to promote aligned literacy initiatives
Amplify the plan through your organization's communications channels and networks
Advocate for policies, funding, and systems changes that support early literacy
Active Partners participate in priority teams by providing input and expertise.
Coordination
Work collaboratively with cross-sector partners to reduce duplication and maximize impact
Support the collective goals of Read901 while advancing your organization's mission
Aligned partners actively align their programming to one or more priorities and share data around outcomes.
What is the Early Literacy Consortium?
The ELC is an advisory body for Read901 and is composed of Read901 partners in the most-involved tiers. They concentrate specifically on literacy strategies from birth to 3rd grade.
